    I do not add sugar or par-boil my berries before I freeze them.
    I wash and remove them from the stem and freezee flat in 1 gallon plastic freezer bags, 4 -6 cups to a bag, depending on my picking that day. I then use them throughout the winter as desired. Is there any reason I should par boil them?

    Sorry I forgot. I originally planted these for the birds. They just do not harvest them fast enough. I do eat them directly from the bush, they have never hurt me and I have heard the darker the fruit the more health benefits. :)
